Job Description

AT&T is seeking a highly experienced Space Systems Engineer to support the Space and Missile Systems Center Space Superiority Systems Directorate (SMC/SY) STS-2 Engineering and Technical Services contract advisory services to SMC/SY.

We work closely with the US Air Force to acquire next generation space and ground systems. We are currently seeking a professional space system engineer to join this expanding team.

Responsibilities:

* Provide systems engineering support to the SMC/SY directorate to develop and maintain the enterprise and program technical requirements baseline, including program system specifications and interface requirements
* Manage the enterprise and program technical requirements
* Ensure traceability of requirements to program system specifications and interface requirements
* Interface with stakeholders and external customers to coordinate requirements changes
* Design and develop Engineering models of space control ground, space and communications systems, with associated interfaces and process flows
* Coordinate and perform Engineering analysis using satellite engineering tools and analysis utilities
* Develop, coordinate and manage risk activities
* Support Earned Value Management activities for baseline management
* Review and evaluate technical concepts related to space control
* Conduct trade studies to determine courses of action (COA) and options for space control capabilities
* Work in an integrated government, contractor and FFRDC environment to effectively organize and accomplish acquisition, engineering, integration and testing tasks

Provides technical expertise in developing, deploying, and managing solutions exclusively to Federal Govt. clients business needs on a fee-for-service or billable hours basis. Designs, develops and analyzes complicated and difficult software programs for computer based systems. Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis. Collaborates with hardware design engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities. As required, provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs. May provide work leadership for lower level employees. Excludes those whose responsibilities are primarily in applications programming and those with full supervisory responsibilities. Five years applicable software design engineering experience. Required Skills:

* Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to understand new concepts
* Proficiency in MS Office
* Strong attention to detail
* Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
* Ability to travel is required

Preferred Skills:

* Understanding of Agile/Lean development methodologies
* Requirements development and analysis using DOORS software
* Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) implementation

Required Experience:

* A Bachelors Degree in systems engineering, software development or an acquisition management or other engineering related degree.
* 5+ years experience with the space acquisition life-cycle management processes
* Knowledge of the systems, organizations, personnel, activities and capabilities of U.S. space systems
* A TS/SCI clearance and the ability to be accessed to the customer's programs is required to be considered for this position

Preferred Experience:

* Master's Degree is strongly desired
* A strong technical background is desired with 10+ years' experience in space systems, operations, satellite and special access programs acquisition
* 5+ years work in a collaborative team environment developing technical baseline or using engineering applications and simulation models
* Experience with space or aeronautical systems engineering & integration programs and projects
* Experience with space control systems and concepts
* 2+ years of experience in software acquisition desired
