Job Description

Are you looking for greenfield development with Amazon-scale impact? In this position you will participate in the development of a new big data and machine learning analytics platform that will provide programmatic customer engagement feedback linked to systems behavior within the scope of Amazon product relationship entities. The infrastructure you build will continuously provide catalog relationships machine learning, rules-based, administration systems and well as the business the ability to make customer-based data-driven decisions.

In this role you will take ownership over the design, documentation, development, delivery and support of new big data and machine learning systems built natively in AWS. You will develop new services and pipelines with functional objectives such as big data ingestion, normalization, validation, storage, MapReduce, analytics, search indices, machine learning pipelines, batch and soft real-time publishing to name a few. You will work on a development team that sets a high bar for quality and reliability. You'll assist in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements, and translate requirements into technical specifications for robust, scalable, supportable solutions that work well within the overall catalog system architecture. You will dive deep and carve out your area of expertise on the team as well as help to guide, hire and mentor junior engineers.

A successful candidate will have a broad array of software development experiences, exceptional design skills, an excellent ability to solve problems, good communication skills and a desire to be a key technical contributor. The systems you will be responsible for will require a breadth of technical knowledge (i.e. distributed systems, search indices, big data, orchestration systems, analytics systems). Daily work will involve interacting with engineers, scientists, stakeholders and managers.

Our team is dedicated to finding new and innovative uses for Amazon's vast array of data to connect aggregated customer engagement metrics to the corresponding systemic actors and events to help teams improve their systems. While we are targeting catalog relationships in the near term, our architecture will allow us to scale to the entire catalog in the future.
