Primary Purpose:
Under general direction, will perform research, design and software development in various aspects of IP/telecommunication/data-communications systems on multiple hardware platforms utilizing Linux and/or Unix-based operating systems. In addition, will be responsible for complex analysis, design, development and testing of software systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop design specifications needed to implement, test and document software solutions for communication systems and/or subsystems
Analyze, design, implement, test and document software for communications systems
Research solutions to telecommunications and IP/computer networking problems
May participate in architecture and system engineering
Operate effectively and comfortably in a team environment
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
Perform other duties as required
Consistent and reliable attendance required
If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment. Minimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge:
Experience in software engineering and development for communications systems, including some experience in technical leadership
Broad experience with the software engineering process from requirements reviews, code inspection to component delivery and sign-off
Development experience on multiple hardware platforms utilizing either Linux or Unix-based operating systems
Additional knowledge of SIP, signaling, call processing, real-time operating systems, and hardware interface software (e.g. device drivers, low-level embedded SW)
Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 4 - 6 years' elated experience, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
Master's degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9Additional Desired Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications, as required
Knowledge of IP telephony, signaling, and call processing
Knowledge of IP networking and associated protocols
Knowledge of LTE systems and LTE core network elements
Knowledge of IMS systems and IMS core network elements
Knowledge of software and network security
Knowledge of circuit switched telephony, signaling and call processing
Knowledge of real-time operating systems, and hardware interface software (e.g. device drivers, low-level embedded SW)Knowledge of vulnerability analysis
Knowledge of reverse engineering
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision and flexibility to adapt to change
Good teamwork skills
