How Will You Make an Impact?
The Senior Program and Portfolio Management (PPM) Analyst is responsible for supporting and advancing measurement, reporting and data management for Thermo Fisher Scientific's Laboratory Products Division (LPD). The LPD portfolio includes New Product Development (NPD), product derivative and sustainment programs. The Senior PPM Analyst will work closely with the LPD program and portfolio management leadership team representing multiple product lines
What will you do?
* Plan and design reports and views that offer insight into program and portfolio performance.
* Provide PPM system expertise supporting PPM process experts and end-users with troubleshooting system requests, new user onboarding, and workflow process definition.
* Develop, promote, support, and improve repeatable processes, methods, measures, and leading practices across LSD to provide reliable data to leadership so they can make informed business decisions
Maintenance
* Perform day-to-day administration of the system
* Address minor daily user issues (e.g. login issues, time tracking issues, reporting issues)
* Determine and perform software maintenance requirements
* Engage with IT and product vendors to assess impact of software updates / releases
* Work with content owners to manage data such as field, report, dashboard or resource information
Portfolio Support
* Partner with LPD Business Unit (BU) Program Managers with set up and execution of regularly recurring reports and dashboards
* Monitor update status and data compliance, flagging and addressing issues
* Distribute recurring dashboards through the organization
Develop & Manage New Implementation Plans and Best Practices
* Determine new requirements based on input from users and stakeholders
* Develop solutions (e.g. reports, dashboards, etc.) to represent data in new and useful ways, working with users, stakeholders, user groups, and others, as appropriate
* Communicate system changes to stakeholders
* Work with vendors to understand and potentially implement new features / upgrades
* Assess and manage risk to data integrity during any major system updates, migrations, etc.
* Join the PPM Pro Governance board to establish and maintain best practices for governance
* Establish prioritized roadmap of future feature / functionality
Training
* Prepare training documentation
* Deliver users and 'train the trainer' training
* Measure effectiveness of training
How will you get there?
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business or related field
Experience
* 5+ years of experience configuring and managing Planview PPM Pro (formerly Innotas) or 7+ years of experience with another cloud-based Program and Portfolio Management Solution
* 5+ years' experience using advanced reporting tools like Power BI and Business Objects
* Strong business analysis and project management skills
* Experienced developing instructional/procedural documentation and presentations particularly around PPM tool capabilities
* Successful implementation of user training and change management
* Experience working with large multi-year program development teams
* Excellent facilitation, collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills
* Experience acting as a system owner, managing user accounts and providing user support
