Job Description

Integral Ad Science (IAS) is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our OTT Video team. If you are excited by technology that has the power to handle hundreds of thousands of transactions per second; collect tens of billions of events each day; and evaluate thousands of data-points in real-time all while responding in just a few milliseconds, then IAS is the place for you! As a Principal Engineer, you will build ad verification, analytics and anti ad fraud software that will help ad buyers & sellers understand the quality of the ad data they're purchasing and using on OTT platforms (e.g. Roku, Smart TVs, Amazon FireStick, Apple TV, etc.).

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, dedicated, has a track record of building video delivery architecture, enjoys working in a collaborative agile environment, and will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and 'go to' person for technical advice and OTT expertise.

What you'll do:

* Architect, design, build and integrate our core ad analytics and anti ad fraud products on OTT video distribution platforms (i.e. Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, etc.)
* Play a lead role in the entire software lifecycle including hands-on development, code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, and mentoring a team
* Gather business and technical requirements from broadcaster clients, while researching and developing solutions, including API development
* Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, exciting, collaborative environment

Who you are and what you have:

* BS in Computer Science, or related STEM degree
* 8+ years of hands-on full-stack programming experience using Java and/or Javascript
* Strong knowledge of Java (collections, multi-threading, JVM memory model, etc.)
* Knowledge of HTTP live streaming, video distribution platforms, HTTPS, HLS and/or DASH protocols
* Experience building software used in the delivery and distribution of video across multiple platforms, including OTT.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Prior experience in an external client and/or vendor facing role
* Experience mentoring a development team
