Come work alongside world leading scientists and engineers to create the technology that will make VR and AR pervasive and universal. Join the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world.
We are currently seeking innovative scientists with experience architecting and coordinating optical systems utilizing novel optical technologies designed by multiple internal teams. Model and analyze the optical, electrical, and mechanical performance metrics against desired requirements for near eye displays. Work with teammates to prototype the subsystems and systems to validate system performance. This is a full-time position and requires an advanced degree in optical engineering, physics, or similar, and a strong background in optical system design and innovation. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop of complete novel optical system architectures using novel optical components and technologies
Develop system and subsystem component requirements that are specified to meet the needs of aggressive near eye displays
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams formed of optical, mechanical and electrical researchers to form fully capable systems
Perform system level analysis to ensure that the optical, mechanical and electrical designs are capable of meeting system requirements
Collaborate with internal and external partners to prototype and validate the designs towards size, weight, cost and performance targets
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree or equivalent experience in the field of Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar field
5+ years of experience in optical architecture innovation and system analysis
Experience with optical design using standard design software such as CODE V, Zemax, or LightTools
Cross disciplinary experience in optomechanics and optoelectronics
Experience with imaging and illumination systems
Experience with physical and geometrical optics
Experience with the usage and design criteria of diffractive optical elements, waveguiding optics, birefringent optics, freeforms, metamaterials, liquid crystals, and micro-optics
