Job Description

What You'll Get to Do:

Provide support to the Department of Defense, Chief Information Officer across the Defense Information Enterprise for the Joint Information Environment, Mission Partner Environment, and Joint Command and Control. Use systems engineering disciplines to help develop Office of Secretary of Defense level policy guidance and strategic direction, oversight, governance and compliance for enabling Joint C2, Joint Cyber C2, Joint Information Environment, and DoDIN architecture. Perform analysis for evaluation of strategic alignment and statutory and regulatory compliance of resourcing plans for defense C2 initiatives.

More About the Role:

Responsible for ensuring the successful IPv6 deployment across the Department and serve as the lead advisor. Develop and coordinate network modernization and optimization plans for DoD transformations such as JRSS, the 4th Estate Network Optimization and the One NIPR/One SIPR initiatives. Lead DoD Network and Cyber SA initiatives reflect the needs of all stakeholders, and earn their trust, and overcome obstacles to streamline adoption. Develops and ensures DoD Network and Cyber SA planning is practical, achievable and cost effective. Partners to ensure DoD CIO identifies One NIPR/One SIPR solutions with stakeholders that are both implementable and achieve substantial operational cost savings. Ensure DoD Enterprise Network Operations (ENO) initiatives reflect the needs of all stakeholders, including coalition partners and industry for streamlined adoption. Briefs and uses effective reporting mechanisms for supporting ENO Senior Leader decisions. Ensure common regional operations center standards and solutions meet the operational requirements of the DoD warfighter community. Analyze operating center network management services to leverage understanding of current industry best practices in ITSM. Assess and deploy focused cyber advances within a controlled management framework. Leverage cloud technology to enhance scalability and performance of cyber analytics. Develop metrics for and monitor these initiatives to ensure they support Department priority goals for increased security, enhanced effectiveness and efficiency gain across the DoDIN. Analyze global and regional operations centers established for DoDIN Operations and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), providing recommendations on enhancing network optimization capabilities and enhancing C2 of NetOps in cyberspace, focusing on enhancing cyber analytics and ITSM-based capabilities. Provide historical records and manage action items.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Senior staff experience working/supporting staff actions at a Combatant Command, Service HQs (ARMY, AF etc.), Joint Staff or OSD level.

Possess staff experience in Command and Control (C2) or communications with an emphasis on coalition C2.

7+ years related experience; Bachelor's degree in field (IT, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or similar) or 4 additional years of experience with no degree.

Experience working in a federal contracting environment with preference in DoD environment

Experience with Network Security

Sharp problem solving skills and posture to engage with internal and external customers

Ability to maintain a TS/SCI clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Specific experience with DoD CIO, JIE, DoDIN, Federal Government communications systems.

Security + certification and other Networking certifications such as Network +, CCNA or CCNP
