Infrastructure Security Engineer

Who We Are
The Information Security (InfoSec) is a blended team of security engineers and security-focused software engineers helping ensure Twitter builds and maintains secure systems and software. We consult, develop tooling, and advocate and train engineers throughout the SDLC to ensure security is prioritized at each step of development.
What You'll Do
As a Security Engineer, you'll join a team of engineers working to reduce risk across the company. We work collaboratively as consultants across the organization to identify risk and impact to the company, communicate that impact to teams and management, and engineer solutions. We strive to identify recurring classes of security problems, find the root cause(s), and develop generalized solutions. We continually advocate and teach security to engineers to empower their own efforts.
Who You Are
The ideal individual has both infrastructure security expertise and systems engineering experience. They understand that building large systems is a set of continual trade-offs and work to make those decisions explicit throughout the process. They have knowledge of security and can identify potential risks in designs, configuration, code, or in deployed systems. They should also have experience with threat modeling and providing security guidance to both technical and non-technical teams. They recognize the importance of building security solutions that scale both technically and organizationally and adapt to changing business requirements. They enjoy advocating security by writing, giving talks, or hosting educational sessions for developers.
Qualification:
You will meet most (but need not meet all) of the following points:
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
* 2+ years of relevant experience.
* Interest in finding effective solutions to security challenges.
* Understand security challenges in large-scale systems and service architectures.
* Knowledge of one or more programming languages, including at least one of: Python, Java, JavaScript, Scala, Go, or Ruby.
* Familiarity with challenges and capabilities with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS vendors.
* Willing to mentor, and be mentored by, others.
* Understand the importance of better over perfect.
* Experience communicating security concerns and issues to non-technical audiences. We value interpersonal skills equally to technical skills.
Position available to sit in Seattle, WA/Boulder, CO or San Francisco, CA Twitter office.
