The Faction Collective

We founders, an Australian and an American, met over a beer in the ski town of Verbier. We shared a vision to bridge the chasm between slow-moving mainstream ski brands and a new breed of progressive skiers. It started to consume our lives, we started mapping out what we would do differently, better. We even drafted a 'manifesto.' With some refinement it stands today.

We believe that skis are more than just pieces of wood, steel & fibreglass. They are medium for personal expression. A way to challenge fears, push limits & share incredible experiences with friends. They are tools of escape.

To bring the Faction Collective to life, we hired a crack team with deep expertise. Former pro athletes, designers and sales managers from the majors, writers from the core magazines to tell the story. They all felt the same way about the industry. We could do it better. Together the team made bold moves, thought quickly, acted quickly, used materials that were light, strong and fast. We collaborated with legendary riders and suppliers who made the Collective better. We made a tonne of mistakes. We picked ourselves up and got better each time.

And Faction today? Our London office is in Shoreditch, the beating heart of London street art and fashion, and right by Moorgate and Liverpool Street tube stations. Our HQ is right by the lift in the freeride mecca of Verbier, Switzerland, with more of the team in Breckenridge, Colorado.

We’re the outspoken minority who live to ski. Who quit their day jobs, left it all behind and moved to the mountains to chase their dreams. Who believe there’s something more than 9-to-5, cell phones and 7-elevens. Who believe that intelligent design and innovative approaches to traditional manufacturing techniques can lead to better products for all of us.
