We're a leading global cryptocurrency company operating across more than 40 countries, with offices in London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Cape Town.
We started in 2013 with a handful of individuals and have since grown to 300 Lunauts. As we’ve grown, we’ve worked hard to maintain that start-up energy, doing everything possible to nurture a culture based on honesty, innovation, and transparency.
Our products and services make it safe and easy for people and businesses to buy, store, use and learn about cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Our vision is to upgrade the world to a better financial system. While doing so, we are also bringing together the brightest and most inquisitive minds on a journey of self improvement and continuous learning, as we work collaboratively across oceans and timezones..
Cryptocurrencies are rapidly changing the financial landscape and we are at the forefront of this revolution. If you’re looking to work on something truly global and disruptive alongside a smart and ambitious team that values diversity, teamwork, and the continuous quest for excellence, then this is the opportunity for you.
To the moon! 🚀
Upgrading the entire planet to a new financial system is a challenge of epic proportions. Like the first moon landing, it requires a special breed of people working together with unusual skill, focus and determination.
"Moontality" represents the 4 core principles that underlie everything we do, setting us apart from the rest.

Our interview process begins with a call to introduce you to Luno and give you some insights into what we do, how we work and what we're looking for. Ask as many questions as you can, it's really important that you also get to know us too!
Next, we'll ask you to take a brief technical assessment. This consists of 10 multiple choice questions covering a range of topics like logic, SQL, and basic programming. There are also two open-ended questions where you'll solve a discrete problem. We use Go, but you can submit your solution in any language you're comfortable with. The whole exercise typically takes around 90 minutes but you have up to 2 hours to complete the exercise.
We'll then invite you to meet with our CTO, an engineering manager and a couple of software engineers (not all at the same time!) to go over your technical background and run through a couple of general programming questions. It's important to relax, we're looking to get an idea of how you'd collaborate with the team - not whether your answers would compile. Some of these meetings may be done via a Google Hangout so please ensure you're comfortable being on a video call. You'll be working with our Cape Town team on a daily basis via VC so this part is really important to us.
We move quickly so you can expect to have a decision within 24 hours of your final interview.
