GitGuardian is a French cybersecurity startup that specializes in detecting secrets in public and private source code. Founded by two French software engineers in 2017, the company is backed by American and French investors and other top-tier VC firms in Europe.

We are supported by the co-founder of GitHub, Scott Chacon, along with Docker's co-founder and CTO Solomon Hykes, and the co-founder and CTO of Eventbrite, Renaud Visage.

Our real-time monitoring system scans through all of public GitHub, pinpoints the exposed sensitive information and alerts the developer and companies’ security teams within 4 seconds after a leak is found. The technology, that is continuously proving its effectiveness on public GitHub, is also applied to prevent internal secret sprawl by monitoring companies’ infrastructure, applications and private repositories for secrets.
