If you've ever rented a car you've likely been in the situation at an airport kiosk at 1am after a long flight - to then be told to wait an hour to collect the car that you've been 'upgraded' to but seems to be worse than the original one you booked. For some reason at every step of the journey it feels like you're going to be scammed into entering some kind of ridiculous insurance agreement which weeks after your rental will empty your bank account.
