Our story begins with The Manhattan Mercury, the newspaper of record for Manhattan, Kansas — the "Little Apple." Jake Seaton, Column's Founder and CEO, worked as a paper boy and a reporter growing up, and watched as the internet disrupted his family's five-generation local newspaper business. Knowing that public notice was a critical issue for newspapers across the country, Jake founded Column in order to use his skills as a technologist to help save the family business.
