Education Needs a Reboot

Entire industries come and go in the span of decades. Traditional education isn't keeping up with the demand for modern, high-value skills. What is needed is something more effective, efficient and scalable.

Our Story

In April 2012, we began tutoring neophyte web developers over video chat. At the time we worked from our house-office in Palo Alto. We learned a lot, and since then we have focused on building a learning platform that enables high quality learning at scale. In late 2012 we raised a seed round of investment and relocated to the Financial district of San Francisco.

Our Mission

Value is created every time knowledge is passed from one individual to another. But in the world we live in today, who we learn from is restricted by a variety of circumstantial factors: geographic location, age, social class, gender, race and so on. Luckily, most of these restrictions do not exist online. If we can bring fully immersive education to the web, many more connections can be made between individuals who want to learn from one another, and much more value can be created in the long run.
